I’ve lived in Edmonton for almost 4 years, taken countless photos in front and around the Alberta Legislature grounds but never stepped foot inside the historical building until now. My sister and I lucked out with timing when we arrived. We got the opportunity to join one of the heritage interpreters facilitating the last historical tour group of the day.
We learned much of the building’s history, the materials imported for building it, it’s occupants and much of Alberta’s heritage. Of course I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to take some photos at the end. After the tour, we marvelled at all of the marble pillars, carved oak and beautiful Beaux-Arts architecture.
