My Stay At Carus Cappadocia
I spent a few days in Turkey crossing off bucket list items, unwinding and reconnecting with my creative self. Besides being awestruck at the beauty of the hotel, I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality and service provided to me by every staff member who went above and beyond to ensure my utmost comfort and satisfaction. From helping me secure a last minute spot on a hot air balloon after missing my flight to the in-house chef customizing a delectable fruit platter just for me. This was without a doubt the BEST hotel service I have ever received in my life!
TIP: Utilize the hotel’s concierge services to book all of your activities and excursions while you’re in Cappadocia – they’ve built a roster of great vendors and give the best recommendations.
Carus Cappadocia is a complete restoration project offering guests a combination of traditional and modern designs that are reminiscent of Cappadocia’s history while maintaining the architectural details of the region. You will even notice the subtle hints of details which reference ancient Greek mythology and the Roman empire.
Officially opening its doors to the public in April 2019, the hotel is the newest property in the region with a growing buzz from local and international guests. The property is designed without barricades, providing an aura of authenticity and allowing guests to experience the area naturally as locals walk through the narrow side streets. Sitting atop one of the multiple terraces, you are spoiled with breathtaking panoramic views of Goreme’s landscape and its historical structures.
Welcome the magical mornings as the hot air balloons rise with the sun each day or wine + dine on the hotel’s restaurant terrace as the sun sets beautifully on the landscape. There’s no way to escape the magic either way.
The hotel has 55 suites and cave rooms offering a range for different budget options .No two rooms are identical at Carus Cappadocia, with each room offering its own classic architectural detail, unique form and size.
Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself fully in authenticity in one of the Cave Rooms, or looking for a contemporary but timeless feel in one of the hand-crafted Masonry Rooms, you will be sure to find comfort and your own unique experience. In addition to Masonry and Cave rooms, CARUS Deluxe Suites offer a bathtub, fireplace and relaxation area and a private terrace.
I stayed in one of the CARUS Deluxe Suites , which was rich in character, more spacious and reminiscent of the stone houses of Goreme village.

TRADITIONAL CAVE ROOM
CARUS’ in-house restaurant, Haruna, provides an extensive menu with a variety of authentic local and international dishes daily. The restaurant’s stylish and cozy atmosphere attracts a tasteful crowd looking to enjoy a fine-dining experience while taking in the beautiful backdrop of fairy chimneys and spectacular views. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served daily with a particular focus on breakfast like no other.
Seriously, HARUNA does breakfast well!
The restaurant serves a royal buffet spread consisting of everything you could possibly think of under the sun for breakfast daily with a variety of options for even the pickiest of eaters. By now, you should know that I am a major foodie with a passion for breakfast/brunch, so I had no problem overindulging daily over a cup of Turkish tea on the restaurant’s terrace.
The restaurant also serves some of the best in-class Turkish wines and has a cellar in the basement which houses all of the locally-made specialty wines of the region. The staff is particularly keen on service and will do everything in their power to ensure that
WELLNESS / SPA
After a long day of excursions and tours, relax and refresh yourself in the underground cave pool. I was lucky enough to get the pool to myself one evening and had the most refreshing swim. If you’re looking for additional pampering, be sure to book a massage or traditional Turkish Hamman at the spa which is located in the same facility as the pool.
Room rates at CARUS Cappadocia range from €110/night ($160 CAD) to €230/night ($330+ CAD)
