THIS IS LAGOS: Brass & Copper
Brass & Copper is a modern beauty to marvel at.
Osaze Bazuaye (Bazu), along with the co founders of Good Hair Ltd., Chioma Ikokwu & Kika-ose Osunde, opened the doors to the tasteful metallic wonder in December 2017. Brass & Copper is located right in the heart of Lekki Phase 1 and has quickly become a tourist’s oasis with the more than occasional sitings of a-list celebrities alike.
After following Kika/Chioma’s snaps closely for almost three months, I developed a natural urge to visit this space and see first hand what all of the buzz was about.
Let me tell you, disappointment was a far find.
Lounge/Bar
When you complete your climb from the enchanted stairwell, you’re welcomed with the naturally lit high ceilinged shisha lounge/bar.
This space is designed with floor to ceiling windows which offer panoramic views of its neighboured surroundings. Perfectly juxtaposed with natural wooden walls, the arched ceiling is covered with what looks to be AstroTurf and accented with copper wired bulbs and pendant lighting. Nifty.
My best friend and I arrived shortly after the lunch hour and our appetite’s were suppressed. Keen to taste the food to some extent however, we went ahead and ordered some appetizers and drinks. For food, we chose the peppered snail platter and paired it with a calamari platter on the side. The peppered snail was not as pepper as I had eagerly anticipated but was flavorful nonetheless. We chowed down the calamari platter in seconds.
What blew me away and still has my mouth watering was the Champagne Peach Bellini. I’ve had peach Bellini’s in the past but this one had a certain emotional component to it; I mean it had to because here I am writing this and still suffering from lingering cravings months later. I know where my first stop is going to be when I’m in Lagos next!
Restaurant/Dining Room
This room was detailed to perfection (IMO) and my favourite space overall. I don’t know, maybe it was the alternative painting of Basquiat that stole my heart but I loved every detail of this room. From the copper pipes protruding out of the ceiling to the blue velvet seats and the hanging potted greens – this space is sure to wow any interior design fanatic.
I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
Far from a shithole , wouldn’t you say? *smirks*
Brass & Copper is easily one of the better designed restaurants in Lagos, Nigeria and deserves a visit on sheer aesthetic grounds alone.
If you’re planning a trip to Lagos or are already in the vicinity, be sure to add this place to your list of must visit restaurants. Take my word for it.
